The ONE Platform at South Summit 2026: three days to connect, recognise and continue driving the innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem

From 3 to 5 June, the ONE Platform – National Entrepreneurship Office took part in South Summit 2026, one of the leading international events for entrepreneurship, innovation and investment. Under the slogan “AI Convergence”, this year’s edition brought together in Madrid startups, corporations, public institutions, investors and ecosystem stakeholders to address the role of artificial intelligence, deeptech technologies, cybersecurity, defence, regulation and European strategic autonomy.

For ONE, this participation had a special meaning. After more than two years of the ONE Platform’s journey, South Summit was an opportunity to bring together some of the people and partner organisations that have contributed to the platform’s growth. It was a chance to thank them for their commitment and to recognise the role of those who make it possible for ONE to be a platform created by and for the stakeholders of the innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem.

A platform built with the ecosystem

Since its launch, ONE has sought to become a useful space for connecting information, resources, calls for applications, events and specialised knowledge. Its development has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of public and private stakeholders, experts, entrepreneurship support organisations, startups, corporations and organisations that share a common goal: making it easier for entrepreneurs to access valuable resources.

The figures reflect this progress:

  • More than 240,000 visits to the platform.
  • More than 10,000 registered users.
  • More than 210 expert contributions.
  • 70% co-created content.
  • 183 calls and grants compiled.
  • 189 ecosystem events promoted.

These figures show the growth of a platform that not only informs, but also connects and highlights opportunities. At South Summit, this approach translated into direct engagement with the ecosystem: listening to needs, identifying new content and strengthening collaboration with those who are already part of the ONE community.

Three days of support and connection

During the three days of South Summit, the ONE team was present at the stand of the Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, answering questions, engaging with ecosystem stakeholders and introducing the platform to new organisations interested in collaborating.

The objective was clear: to bring the ONE Platform closer to those driving entrepreneurship from different fields and to identify new opportunities to generate useful, practical and actionable content. Being present at South Summit made it possible to speak with startups, support organisations, investors, institutions and sectoral organisations about the current challenges facing the ecosystem.

These conversations are essential for continuing to build a platform aligned with the real needs of entrepreneurs. Every interaction helps identify new topics, resources and formats that can bring value to the community.

A stand active throughout the event

In addition to the presence of the ONE team, the stand hosted a range of sessions, presentations and pitches promoted by bodies linked to the Ministry and the digital ecosystem.

On Wednesday, 3 June, sessions focused on internationalisation, deeptech technologies and cybersecurity were held. These included the presentation of the Ibero-American Digital Forum, an overview of the main lines of the DeepTech Strategy 2026–2030, and a session by INCIBE on cybersecurity funding programmes, with references to initiatives such as NATO’s DIANA and the Digital Europe Programme.

On Thursday, 4 June, the agenda continued with new activities. The Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence presented the Open-Source Artificial Intelligence Community, accompanied by startup pitches. The Spain Audiovisual Hub portal was also presented, showcasing support mechanisms for entrepreneurship in the audiovisual sector.

On that same day, SETT led the session “AI in Action: From Vision to Reality”, featuring companies that presented artificial intelligence-based solutions. In addition, sessions linked to RETECH projects were held, such as Techfablab and Digital Entrepreneurship Networks in Andalusia, with the participation of tech startups from different sectors.

This programme reinforced the role of the stand as a meeting point for sharing initiatives, showcasing projects and generating new connections.

ONE Gathering: recognition for collaborators

One of the highlights was the ONE Gathering, held on Thursday, 4 June. This initiative made it possible to recognise the contribution of experts and partner organisations that have participated in the creation of content, resources and experiences within the platform.

The gathering served to underscore a central idea: ONE is not understood as an isolated project, but as a collective tool at the service of the ecosystem. Its strength lies in the participation of those who contribute knowledge, experience and vision from different fields. This recognition was also a way to continue strengthening the community.

Innovation, AI and new opportunities for the ecosystem

South Summit 2026 was also marked by major announcements. During his speech, the Minister for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, Óscar López, announced the launch, during the month of June, of more than €162 million in grants for the creation of research, testing and experimentation infrastructures in dual-use technologies.

These grants will be aimed at strengthening industrial capacities in strategic fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, connectivity and robotics. The calls will fund infrastructures in public universities, public research organisations, public R&D centres, national technology centres and companies.

This announcement reinforces the commitment to disruptive technologies and to an innovation model in which public investment acts as a lever to drive strategic capabilities.

The presence of the ONE Platform at South Summit 2026 helped strengthen connections, recognise collaborations and open new conversations with the entrepreneurial ecosystem. It also confirmed the importance of having spaces where startups, institutions, investors, corporations and support organisations can share challenges and opportunities.

At ONE, we will continue working to offer useful content, resources, calls, events and specialised knowledge to support entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.

If you are part of the innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem, we invite you to discover the platform, register and take part. The ONE Platform grows with every collaboration, every shared resource and every stakeholder that joins.
