Grants for the year 2026 aimed at promoting business succession in self‑employment in Castile and León, with special attention to initiatives led by self‑employed women.

The purpose of this aid is to facilitate the generational succession of businesses established in Castile and León, ensuring their continuity in situations such as retirement or termination due to unforeseen causes, while promoting self‑employment.

The Regional Government of Castile and León, through the Department of Industry, Trade and Employment, is launching the 2026 call for grants aimed at promoting succession in self-employed activity, designed to ensure the continuity of viable businesses whose activity could cease due to a lack of succession. These grants respond to a growing need to keep the local business fabric alive, encouraging new entrepreneurs —with special attention to self-employed women— to take over ownership of already consolidated businesses.

The program supports the transfer of businesses with more than five years of activity, when such transfer occurs due to the owner’s retirement or due to supervening causes such as permanent disability or death. In addition, only businesses whose activity is linked to a physical premises or office located in Castile and León are eligible, with strictly digital activities or those without a physical presence excluded.

The grant helps to reinforce economic continuity in municipalities throughout the Community, fostering the maintenance of employment, activity and local services.

Within this strategy, the aid provides for an amount designed to adapt to the characteristics of the territory and the profile of the person taking over. The grant starts from a base amount of 10.000 euros, to which various increases may be added:

  • 4.000 euros if the business is located in municipalities of up to 1,000 inhabitants.
  • 2.000 euros for municipalities between 1,001 and 5,000 inhabitants.
  • 4.000 euros additional when the beneficiary is a woman.
  • 2.000 euros if they are under 35 years of age.

Taken together, these conditions allow a maximum amount of 20.000 euros, providing significant support that facilitates both the continuity of activity and the incorporation of new entrepreneurs.

Likewise, the call is structured under a direct award scheme, which enables more agile processing and adaptation to the real needs of those who wish to continue an already operational business.

Beneficiaries

Individuals who take over the ownership of a business established in Castile and León when such succession occurs due to the retirement of the previous owner, permanent total disability, absolute disability or severe disability, or the death of the owner.
